ILF provides feasibility study for Pakistan Railways
morePakistan Railways commissioned ILF Consulting Engineers to carry out a feasibility study for the rehabilitation of the existing 234 km long broad gauge (1,676 mm) railway line from Shahdara to Chak Amru. The main project goal is to determine the existing conditions of the infrastructure and to identify improvements required to increase the travelling speed from currently 70ai??i??80 kmph up to 120 kmph.
The services comprise a condition survey of more than 435 bridges with non-destructive testing and a structural analysis of 5 selected representative bridges, stations and freight yards. Topographic surveys, geological studies and geotechnical investigations, hydrological studies, rehabilitation studies for all infrastructure components, including rail systems, power, signaling and telecom systems and infrastructure crossings will also be carried out.
