Senior Piping Engineer (National Staff)
Job description
For upstream projects in the oil and gas industry the piping engineering has to be done for the different project phases: such as concept, FEED and detail design.
Main responsibilities are:
- Lead preparation of piping and mechanical engineering documentation (specifications, philosophies, equipment data sheets etc.)
- Supervise development of piping & mechanical design for upstream surface facilities.
- Lead development of piping layout, pipe routing, support design, stress analysis, MTO control, material requisitions, and 3D design models
- Organize inputs and supervise for preparation general layout, equipment layout, key plans, support design, isomet-rics, material take offs, stress analysis, pipe material specifications and material requisitions.
- Lead development of project specific engineering solutions without supervision in order to meet the project goals
- Lead development of package-engineering (bid evaluation, vetting, expediting, commissioning support)
- Coordinate different piping/mechanical activities in the piping team and in other engineering disciplines
- Lead organization, initiation, and follow-up of the project files and documentation, including maintaining the stand-ard project files structure on project server.
- Responsible to oversee all piping related documents before being issued for Interdisciplinary Check and before submission to Clients.
- Responsible to implement all required piping related measures to ensure quality at source
- Train and mentor junior engineers
- Interface with other departments and with client representatives
- Ability to cover Lead engineer during absence.
- Adhering to Company QA/QC instructions.
Qualification
- Awareness of Compliance and ISO Audit Processes.
- Ability to identify changes and improvements to the technical documentation and procedures to reflect Client’s changing requirements.
- Knowledge of computer-based systems including Database Management systems, Microsoft Project, Primavera, Microsoft Office or equivalent software packages.
- Be proactive, a self-starter and ability to work without supervision.
- Systematic thinker and good organizational skills/ time management.
- Strong personality with ability to be firm and persuasive without authority.
- Team player within and across functions.
- Sensitive to Client’s requirements and Client-focused.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering is minimum requirement; master’s degree preferred
Language skills: English and Russian are mandatory. Kazakh is advantageous.
